Curaçao International Financial Services Association (CIFA) has a new director as of June 1: Mr. Luis G. Santine Jr. He is the successor of Mr. Lionel Anthony.
Santine is also CEO at Dutch Caribbean Stock Exchange (DCSX), owner & Managing Director at InfoCapital N.V. and a member at the General Court of Audit of the Netherlands Antilles (ARNA).
Previously Santine worked in the financial sector as a private banker at First Caribbean International Bank (FCIB), Maduro & Curiel's Bank and MeesPierson on Curaçao and with Rabobank International In the Netherlands. He also was Secretary at the Curacao Bankers Association (CBA).
Curaçao International Financial Services Association (CIFA) is the representative association of professionals in the international financial services sector of the Netherlands Antilles. CIFA acts as an advisory and sounding board for the government, regulatory agencies, and monetary authorities on issues concerning Curacao's international financial services sector. CIFA initiates and endorses the development of new concepts, products and services by actively lobbying for new state-of-the-art laws and regulations (fiscal, corporate and compliance).
In March Mr. Bryan Irausquin was appointed as Chairman of CIFA.
Irausquin is a Senior Tax Manager at Ernst & Young. He practices in all fields of international and national corporate tax, including tax planning, with a focus on restructurings/reorganizations and mergers & acquisitions. His clients are both national and multinational groups of Netherlands Antilles and foreign origin.
Bryan Irausquin started his career with Arthur Andersen’s International Tax practice in Rotterdam. At Arthur Andersen he was a senior tax adviser with specialty in Energy & Utilities and Netherlands Antilles taxation. In 2002 he and his team transferred to Ernst & Young, where they joined the Multinational Corporate Tax and Energy, Chemicals & Utilities divisions of Ernst & Young in Rotterdam. Effective August 1, 2004 Bryan transferred to Ernst & Young Caribbean where he is the Senior Manager in charge of the Business Tax Advisory and International Tax Service Lines of Ernst & Young in the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba.
Irausquin joined the board of CIFA in November 2005.
